The Department of Speech and Hearing Science studies all types of communication. This includes speaking, listening, reading, writing, signing and using technology. Our undergraduate program gives students a strong foundation in the science of effective communication. Our graduate programs train experts in communication disorders. We also conduct research on their treatment and prevention.
