Patty Cetin will be speaking in Illini Room B on Word Transformers: An After School Literacy Program. This program was funded by a Public Engagement grant developed by Patty, Dr. Cynthia Johnson and former PhD student, Mary Kubalanza.
It is time to apply for our annual Speech and Hearing Science 2016 student awards. Our awards are funded through the generosity of our alumni and friends, and recognize excellence in undergraduate and graduate student achievements. We welcome nominations prompted by faculty as well as self-nominations from students. The deadline to apply is midnight on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Descriptions of the awards can be found here.
Applications are now being accepted for the Bob Bilger Graduate Award. The Bob Bilger Graduate Student Award is dedicated to graduate students who are enrolled at UIUC and engaged in research to study the auditory system. Award recipients will be determined based upon academic merit and potential for continued research progress, with preference given to PhD students. This year's award carries a cash prize of $2,500. Applications and support materials must be received no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, March 4, 2016. Details can be found here.
