SHS professors, student, receive grants from American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation
SHS was well represented among the recent grants bestowed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation.
Associate Professor Raksha Mudar will serve as principal investigator on an investigation of cognitive and neural alterations in age-associated hearing loss, funded by a New Century Scholars Research Grant. Her co-principal investigator is Associate Professor Fatima Husain.
Assistant Professor Ian Mertes received a New Investigators Research Grant to fund a study of the role of olivocochlear efferents for listening in dynamic noise.
PhD student Yihsin Tai received a Graduate Student Scholarship from the Foundation.
