Research and Professional Interests
Professor Watkins' area of special interest is normal language acquisition, language disorders, and assessment, particularly in toddlers and
preschool-age children. Her research interests include grammatical deficits in children with specific language impairments (SLI), and the application
of this work to theoretical accounts of SLI and clinical practice in the area.
